WORKS WITH PANASONIC SOUNDBARS!! Feb 10, 2011
By cheatek If you have a Panasonic soundbar (SC-HTB10 or SC-HTB500) and need the optional Panasonic IR Blaster (SH-WR10) but can't find it (it's no longer avaialbe from Panasonic, nor even here on Amazon), THIS ITEM WILL WORK!! Installation is simple, it plugs directly into the back of the soundbar just like the Panasonic one (3.5mm minijack). Then from behind the soundbar place the other end, the "blaster" part, aimed directly at the tv remote contol sensor and you're done. Works perfectly. No issues or problems whatsoever, works exactly as the Panasonic one, and the item is first rate all the way. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

By Joe Very happy with this cable which was to replace my lost one for my Slingbox.I was going to purchase one on ebay but found this new one on Amazon.Works excellent, fair price for product and shipping. If your buying one for your Slingbox get the 3.5 mm to 2.5 mm adapter along with it.Nice to find something you need without being ripped off when it comes to price. Thanks Amazon,I'll be back!7 ft. Quality cable.... Sep 23, 2011
By Grandma Nan Happy to find this cable. It arrived in record time and worked perfectly. It is made with far better quality wire that the one we had been using. I expect it to perform well for a LONG time. Although it is from a third party seller I could not have been more pleased with the purchase. Thanks Amazon...and Infrared Resources.

Works as advertized Jul 21, 2011
By Justin After having my previous orders (for the now discontinued Panasonic brand) cancelled TWICE, I was willing to try anything. My Panasonic 40" G25 which is in our bedroom came with the free soundbar which sits directly in front of the TV and of course blocks the IR signal from the remote. So prior to getting this cable we had to aim at a mirror, the ceiling, or sit way up to try to get over the lip of the soundbar. It was not fun when trying to relax before bed.
With a simple plug in of this and properly arranging the IR transmitter end it worked the way it was intended to. It's a shame this accessory had to be purchased in the first place, but I cannot fault this product in the least.

Perfect compliment for Panasonic Soundbar SU-HTB500 Jun 05, 2011
By D. Nguyen Like the other reviewers, I too was planning to by the IR blaster for my Panasonic Soundbar (SU-HTB500), but it was no longer in stock, so I came across this one. My soundbar sits directly in front of the lower panel of my TV, so I'd have to raise my hand up and angle the remote downward in order for the TV IR sensor to be able to pick up the signal from behind the soundbar. (Panasonic obviously had thought about this - they should've just included it with the soundbar.)
Shipping was a bit higher than average for the packaging it comes in (and I'm in a neighboring state) - $4.45, but it came very quickly! Total purchase price $13.44.
It was packaged in a simple, no-frills, bubble mailer with invoice. The IR blaster comes in a sealed plastic bag with an adhesive for mounting. There are no instructions - a simple instruction sheet would have been nice.
How to use this device: Plug it into the IR sensor input on the back of the sound bar. Place the bulb-end so that it is pointed at the TV (or whatever device you want it to send the IR signal to). It works even with the soundbar is off, which is very nice! Point the remote at the soundbar and use the remote. The soundbar IR picks up IR signals and sends it to the device which repeats and emits the IR signal out of the bulb to the TV IR (or whatever device IR you have it pointed at).
Simple device that does what it's supposed to. I'd highly recommend it for those faced with the same scenario.
